Aerospace Integration Research Centre (AIRC)

The new £35m Aerospace Integration Research Centre based at Cranfield University was co-funded by Airbus, Rolls Royce and University.  The unique centre will aim to improve efficiency of air travel in the future.

Carter Design Group were appointed by RG Carter to provide a design coordination role between Architectural, Engineering and Mechanical and Electrical consultants.  As part of this, CDG took drawings from each discipline as well as the multiple sub-contractor packages (curtain walling, pre cast concrete stairs, doors, windows, cladding etc) and reviewed in conjunction to make sure the project could be delivered within the tight timescales with no need for on site alterations or additions.
