Kings Court Care Home, Holt

Carter Design Group were appointed as Civil and Structural Engineers by
R G Carter Limited to Kings Court Care Home in 2022, following the successful completion of a number of care home projects in East Anglia.
Kings Court is a high-specification, 66-bed luxury care home situated in beautifully landscaped grounds with local amenities a short walk away in the nearby town of Holt, Norfolk.

Working alongside architects Condy/Lofthouse, the team carried out the design of the 3,600 sq metre building, comprising a mixture of steel frame and load bearing masonry construction with precast concrete floors throughout. The façade has various treatments including glazing, brickwork, reconstituted stone cladding, living wall panels. The interior is finished with high-specification floor, wall and ceiling finishes and furniture to create a luxurious but comfortable, cosy and safe environment for residents.

Externally, the hard standings are formed of permeable pavement, making use of the underlying sands and gravels, whilst the site level strategy takes account of the varying topography, and provides an ideal setting for the building whilst protecting the treeline to the site frontage.
